Paralegal Work in a Pro Bono Agency

Family law issues require special sensitivity and patience. A divorce, for example, or the issues surrounding the Colorado maxim "best interest of the child" require a good listener who understands the importance of separating the legal issues from the emotional ones. In my work as an intake officer for a western Colorado pro bono agency, I developed an attentive ear and the parallel skill of sorting the client's emotional needs and the attorney's strategic needs.

I am skilled at interviewing the client and identifying the client's issue, I prepare concise summaries of those interviews and submit them to you for your review.

Family law issues are family law issues, whether the client is pro bono or for fee. The balance of the client's emotional and legal needs is the same. I'm a great listener when the client wants or needs (or both) to "blow off steam."
